Activities of the Bishkek Head Office of FTI

Activities of the Osh Regional Office of FTI

The Osh regional office was opened in 1999 in order to further the possibilities of the work being carried out in the south of Kyrgyzstan in the border areas with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.  

 
Activities of the Batken Branch of FTI

The Batken regional office was opened in September 1999, connected with the incursion of Islamic militants in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, known in history as the “Batken Events.” FTI played an enormous role in spreading objective and prompt information about the situation in Batken, as it was only one of the organizations who had the necessary resources to do so. 

 
Activities of the Jalal-Abad Regional Office of FTI

In connection with the ethnic violence the south of Kyrgyzstan in June, Jalal-Abad regional office was opened in order to assist with the lowering of tension, in the post-conflict period amongst communities of different ethnic groups. Under the framework of the short-term projects, FTI conducted a series of activities to decrease tension caused by the conflict, and to reach an interethnic agreement and restore trust in the Jalal-Abad region.
