International Volunteers
Every year international volunteers work in one of FTI's five offices. So far FTI has worked with several dozens of local volunteers and quite a few international volunteers from countries such as Italy, Japan, France, Netherlands, Belgium, UK and USA. Upon arrival he/she gets to know office, its organization and activities, and then chooses one specific direction to work with and proposes an activity plan. This approach gives volunteers the opportunities to understand all the projects and activities of the organization. FTI highly encourages initiatives and independent work from the volunteer. The minimum term is 6 months and due to our status as a not-for-profit organization we are unable to provide any financial compensation.
International volunteer will be responsible for:
-
Developing new initiatives to assist with programmatic, institutional and organizational development.
-
Assisting with the redevelopment of the web-site and timely allocation of information about the projects on the site.
-
Preparing materials for updating the English version of the web-site with input from and coordination of previous volunteers and FTI staff.
-
Conducting substantial research and reports addressing issues of mutual interest to FTI and the volunteer.
-
Assisting with information & communication technologies.
-
Elaborating "success stories" of FTI.
-
Updating/improving communications materials in English, such as the "Projects Briefing Portfolio”, grant proposals and reports, with which is an excellent opportunity for the volunteer to learn about all the projects of FTI since 1998.
-
Assisting staff with external communications (donors, international partners and potential volunteers).
-
Ensuring that staff is efficiently using and updating the newly developed "Donor-Contact Database”, otherwise conduct necessary training to institutionalize the tool.
FTI will support international volunteer by:
-
Providing necessary documentation and contact for the visa application (invitation letter, and etc).
-
Providing airport pick-up and drop-off to/from volunteer's apartment.
-
Finding accommodation (apartment) for a reasonable price close to the office.
-
Conducting a sight-seeing tour around the city.
-
Granting access to all documents of the organization at the office.
